My remarks to the press inquiries I received in the aftermath of the horrible events of Saturday evening in western PA:
Six weeks, just six weeks!
That’s the time period during which all of these unthinkable things happened: jury verdict, shaky debate performance and assassination attempt.
Are we all politically punch drunk now? One of the definitions is: “tired and confused, especially after dealing with a difficult situation.”
It fits.
As the country tries to come together after Saturday’s horrible events in western PA, let’s all cut each other a little slack. If someone who in the past used incendiary language is now at least mouthing the words “things need to change for the better,” let’s give them a chance to grow into that sentiment, rather than immediately attacking them for flip-flopping.
